President James Madison's Montpelier, Orange Virginia

Heritage Protection Group was a part of the design team that restored the home of the fourth president of the United States to its 1812 period-of-significance.  HPG services included helping the operating foundation establish its fire protection objectives, evaluating protection features and systems to achieve the objectives, and working as the design engineer for the building’s fire resistance, early warning smoke detection and water mist fire suppression systems.  These systems had to be engineered to properly protect the building and it’s occupants while being minimally visible.  HPG was the project’s liaison with local building and fire officials and developed the fire emergency training program for staff, and integrated fire and security systems.
